Hello,

Please give me your opinions on what the grade of this dime should be.

The darkened area on the back looks like some light layer of easily removable fungus.

Thanks

A bit tough to grade, scanner reflective issue.
AU at best.

It is a little tough to tell with the scanner pic, but details actually look MS-61 to me. Some dings, and bag marks, but not a bad coin.

OK everyone here are some photos taken with a digital camera: not a scanner.

Please let me know if your previously-submitted grades will now change with the introduction of these new photos.

Also, when I focused on the feathers of the Liberty head on the obverse the lettering on the background seemed to be out of focus.

I am unsure if a solution exists to be able to photograph all of the dimensions of a multi-depth coin. Please comment on this issue also.

Thanks again

Looks like there is a trace of friction on Liberty's cheek, the hair above the face, and the lower edge of the neck. That makes it AU58 IMO. There appear to be fingerprint traces on the obverse and the "fungus" is just toning I think. This is a common date, worth just a bit more than bullion value in this grade.

I may see some wear on the cheeck, hair, cap and center band.
But I also need better glasses. AU-55
Rest in Peace
