Yes the tax return is coming and I am now hooked on Roman Coins.
(Heaven forbid I get started on Greek or something else)

You have a limit of say around $600 what would you recommend?

Would like to have some good detail on it, the problem is I like about every coin that I see.

Need your words of wisdom Oh Wise Ones

Don't think you'll find too many Roman gold coins for sale for $600 or so these days. Byzantine, perhaps, but not Roman.

I agree with Sap, But if you are interested in Roman coins, check the 'VCOINS' site, using the search facility. You will get a good idea on what is currently available for sale, and give you a good idea of prices. This should help you decide on what coins you may be interested in.

I find Roman coins an engrossing area of study, where much original research has been done.

Roman gold is going to be very expensive. On the other hand you can get some really nice silver coins for that amount.

Yes I have noticed that I would have to put another Zero at the end of that price to even be in the neighborhood for Gold

Maybe in the future

For now I will have to stick to nice bronze and silver pieces.

I will check the VCOINS site and see what I can find.

ebay has been OK but you really have to watch the prices and the fakes.

I was surprised by the size of the known fake sellers list, does ebay ever cancel an account of someone selling fake coins?.
