There is an obvious connection between the ancient and modern designs in the coins pictured.

The designs of the Liberty Walking half and the St Gaudens double eagle are obviously inspired from ancient coin design. These two coins are known as 'neoclassical' designs

Is there any example in ancient coins that would approximate the half dollar and double eagle designs mentioned above?

Liberty wearing a helmet on the gold $50 reminds us of the silver staters of Corinth.
