you know, withot ebay, I would have a very small pool of coins to shop from.

However without ebay, I might not be subject to wild optimists like this guy

If you look up his feedback, you will see that he has a habit of over-grading his coins. And if he thinks that coin is lustrous, then he can buy some of mine! I have some that are equally "lustrous" that I'll sell to him for only half of his asking price.

I think everyone has such a love/hate relationship with ebay, even sellers who have to put up with constantly increasing fees, competing with dodgy sellers, and being "victimised" by ebay itself (see one of Bigfella's threads for an example).

I know Ernie, he's a nice guy.

He runs several monthly coin shows north and west of Boston. He's given me some decent free advice. I also have sat next to him at live auctions and he's a character.

That said, I'm not willing or able to vouch for his ebay personas. IIRC, he told me that he sells his good stuff under ebwcoin and lower-quality stuff under ernie.
Rest in Peace

I've done business with Ernie before. He's often optimistic (sometimes hopefully optimistic) about coin grades, but is basically an honest dealer.

I wasn't singling out any particular seller, just a long night of going through listings that say things like "LUSTROUS!!" and "Brilliant, wow!".
Rest in Peace

I have purchased many coins from Ernie. He is a bit of a showman on ebay, but I have liked all the coins I have purchased from him. Mike

Wow, talk about night and day on his feedbacks! The ernie persona is one I would not deal with, while ebwcoin sounds like someone who has his act together. Makes you wonder why all the complaints and negatives on his ernie name.

Obviously a typographical error. The seller meant to type in "AG" instead of "AU".
