Hi. I was just informed about this thread. I think that I can help kick the can down the road a smidge. I present for your inspection a 1493 half groschen from the archbishopric of Mainz. The attribution is Lev I-303. The obv inscription is BERT+ARCH+IPS+PRINC+ELE and the rev inscription is S°PET°A-POST°1&93 (where the ampersand is a Gothic number 4). I was pretty psyched to pick up this coin as it is somewhat rare. The strike is very uneven, but there was enough detail that I decided to jump on it.

I just realized that it wasn't time for 1493 yet. The thread skipped 2009!

Well then, please tell me your preference. This weekend, I can either post a 2009 or a 1492. You guys pick...

How about both. I don't want to skip any years, but I sure don't want to throw away 517 years of progress.

Ok here you go. This is a 1492 1/2 Schwertgroschen from the Germany Duchy of Saxony. The attribution is Levinson I-290 and it was minted in Freiburg. Obv inscription is "FA H D G DVCS SAX TV LA HA HS" and rec inscription is "GROSSUS NOVVS DVCVH SAXONI 92". @Petrus, I'd love to see your 1492 coin. Please post it!

2009 was not missed, it is missing! So is 2008. This is why I hate off-site image hosting. Anyway, I have removed the 2009 posts. Sorry, we cannot just go back like that. But, I have graciously taken your images and put them in place of the missing photos... https://goccf.com/t/86101#707705Now we can move along. Well, after Petrus posts the 1492. If anyone posts a 1491 before Petrus posts then it might just disappear.
