ccoppertops New Member United States 7 Posts	Posted 04/14/2011 2:39 pm Hi everyone. First off, I am new to this forum. I am fairly new to coin collecting. I dabbled a little when I was younger and got back into it about a year ago. I am still trying to learn, so bear with me please. I have a question about a 1960 d penny a found recently. It has something going on in the 6 of the date. I know a Cud happens near the rim. Could this be a die chip or something? I really don't know, so any help would be greatly appreciated. I have done a lot of research since I love looking through pennies, so I do realize that they have no premiums, as a lot of things that are found on pennies other than DD's, RPM's, OPM's, and a few others. But I am like you scurry64, I like to know what they are and keep them because they ARE unique. Thanks again you two, I really do appreciate you taking the time out to help. ccoppertops New Member United States 7 Posts	Posted 04/14/2011 6:20 pm You are right penny man. It is on the die. It is a chipped die, where a piece of metal comes off the die. I am not saying it is unique in a way that should draw a premium, but it has somewhat of a unique characteristic as something imperfect. All I am saying is that it is cool knowing that in a perfect minting process, it would not be there. That's all. It is cool to me. Report this Post to the Staff
