Biggfredd,any idea where those pics were taken? Arizona maybe? Could be a number of different kinds of ore!

biggfredd - you reminded me of a fishing trip I took to Michigan's Upper Peninsula, copper country. We were trout fishing in small streams running through paper company land. The streams were lined with chunks of copper ore. Here's one I brought home that weighs about 8 lbs. It also has quartz and iron pyrite in it.

I use it for a door stop.
