I have a U.S. cent with the same effect and when I first began collecting I posted it
in one of the forums and the consensus was "acid dipped". On the coins and canada site,
they have this listed in their error section. Perhaps there are other reasons for these
coins having this rippled look to them. I'm just going by what a couple of experts told
me.
