So there it is, 1500 hundred an 10 cents last glance at the 24 hour US gold....

Got me to thinking about largest gold nuggets ever, and that multiplied by 1500, lol. I found a neat link here with a list of nuggets from Alaska, the largest being 294 troy oz and some change. So around 440,000 that would be worth. That hunk of gold would look nice in my collection needless to say....

It also seems like on the TV show "Gold Rush", they ran one of those on the way to break trivia facts about the largest gold nugget being found on a bulldozer shovel in Alaska up to that point in the early 1900's, and it seems like it weighed around 140 troy oz.....

Silverhawk,I am a geologist by training and think rocks and minerals are magnificent creations so I LOVED the photos in your attached article. It is amazing what the natural processes produce. I would love to have a nice nugget in my mineral collection(even though gold is really an element and not a mineral).

Glad you guys liked that link, I thought it was pretty well put together myself, how they have them listed from largest known find and down. What a dream it would be to find a nugget that makes that list, even at the bottom, lol....

Indeed so. How about finding an opal the size of a football?
