This is a 1/4 franc under Louis Philippe I.
But there is some damage where I should read the year.
Are you able to decipher?
Do you know of any trick in image editing to see anything more?
Here are the pics:

If I read properly the mint mark, you should have less choice : 1831 1832 1845 (rouen)
I'm not sure though, seems there is more than the B.
Some reading about this coin ;

Hi Mathieu,
It is mint mark BB for Strassbourg and with the privy mark "bee", it could have been minted from 1834 until 1845 which is the last year for this type.

My guess is the year 1833BB
Last number looks like 3.
It is Mint: Strasbourg - BB
And BB mint only 1833 is finishing with 3.
That is my guess.

Hi nikola,
My guess is also a final 3 BUT this coin is not reported to have been minted in 1843 and in 1833 the mint master's sign was still a beaver. So that year is impossible as well.
The bee which is clearly visible on this coin has only been used from November 1834 on.
My other guess would be a final 5 but it doesn't look very convincing.
If you want to compare, on that link you find pictures for every year.

Bee (be) 1834-60 yes.
5 is ok with me.
But still it is hard to find out 1835 or 1845.
For now 18?5.

While comparing the pics,I realized that 1842 is the latest possible year.
On January 1st, 1843 the general engraver of the French mint has changed.
As a consequence the star at the bottom has been replaced by the head of a greyhound.
This could then make 1835. But I'm still not very convinced.

I think it might end in "8": how does that fit with the other available facts ?

The only possibilities are 1834, 1835, 1836, 1837, 1838 and 1839.
So this one must have been minted in 1838.
Quite a rare year with only 6543 minted.
