peteramadeus Valued Member United States 79 Posts	Posted 04/27/2011 2:30 pm I picked one of these up yesterday on a whim.... I had met up with someone to buy some various coins we had already agreed on and they pulled this out. I asked how much they wanted for it and they said $10 so I snapped it up. Anyone have any idea what these are worth? (general range since I don't have a scan yet) I've scoured the web and there's no good resource on National Currency online, and the only book I have on small size notes (Standard Guide to Small Size US Paper Money) doesn't cover National Currency. iamkayelem Valued Member United States 176 Posts	Posted 04/27/2011 3:52 pm Depending on condition and rarity and what not... but $10 sounds like a pretty good deal to me. They're listed in Whitman's RedBook for about $90 in Very Fine, but that's a very broad number because there are large discrepancies between each bank with how many notes were printed. rickmp Valued Member United States 64 Posts	Posted 04/27/2011 8:20 pm In the (Krause) Standard Catalog of United States Paper Money, it lists for $50 in VG, $100 in VF, $300 in CH CU (63) and $375 in Gem CU (65). While I can't find any other notes from that specific bank the lowest I see other $5 National Currency notes go for on ebay no matter how rough looking is ~$20. I'm mainly curious to know how many $5 notes were actually printed for this bank. Report this Post to the Staff

Yours would be less of course but still, $10.00 was a very fair price to pay for it. peteramadeus, there were 56,820 Type I (9,470 sheets of six notes each. Serial numbers 1 - 9470) and 24,522 Type II (Serial numbers 1 - 24522) Series 1929 $5.00 notes issued from this bank. This note is a Type I note. Type I notes have a letter on both ends of the serial number and Type II notes have a letter on the left end only. Report this Post to the Staff
