This Bruins goalie has what looks like a coin on his mask. The pic doesn't show this, (in fact it does) but I think from my TV screen it looked like "In God We Trust" was on the "coin".

Does anyone know the full story about this?

Tim, are you on the forum somewhere?
If so, congrats on the big win tonight. (Leafs fan here, so I'm glad you beat the Habs!)

"the design is a replica of a medallion that he wears. The medallion is a modified coin with different elements on it."

A quote from an article.

"On the front, replacing the Bruins logo, is a design of the coin Thomas wears as a necklace. On the back, an American flag with the 'Don't Tread On Me' slogan replaces the 'Beware Of Bear'' logo."

Huge win! Nice mask. Go Tim!

Hockey. Blah. My Hawks lost in seven. No repeat. The Cup will find a new home this year.

Interesting find on the mask, though.

As a goalie, I can say that I am jealous of this mask! I think I know what I will put on my next mask I get... Too bad my Penguins lost. :(

it looks like the eagle on the Reverse of a quarter to me. It doesn't match the eagle of any other denomination I can think of

Very cool mask. I hadn't notice the design before. Heart broken the Kings and Hawks were knocked out in the first round. ANYONE BUT VANCOUVER.
