These are 9 notes I found in an estate I'm working with. I don't have a clue about notes & am hoping someone might be able to help with identification and/or value.

These 2 notes have the same serial number. I'm assuming they are fake.

The engraving on the top note in this picture is different from the others of this denomination. Possibly authentic? I suspect the bottom note is fake as it's identical to the 2 in the top picture except for serial number.

The 2 notes in this picture have had some sort of semi-transparent, textured paper glued or otherwise attached to both sides.

I have an additional 25 & 50 cent note but didn't get pictures.

I just got through doing an ebay search & it looks like most of these State of Alabama Confederate notes run between $15-40. Any hints or tips to distinguishing fakes from the real thing?

It's really hard to tell from the pictures, as they're kind of small, but I think the third 'One', the 'Ten' and the 'Fifty' are possibly real notes. I have serious doubts about the rest. The 5, 25, and 50 cent notes are absolute fakes. I'm sorry to sound so negative, but it happens. There are plenty of fakes out there, and overall, these aren't bad attempts.

I was pretty sure the $1 notes were fake except the 3rd. I also thought the 10 & 50 might be real because they had been encased in some other paper.....although I suspect that reduces any value they might have had. I didn't have a clue about the 5, 25 & 50 cent notes.

I appreciate the negativity. I'm the coin guy for our estate sale group so I end up working on any notes that come up even though I'm a beginner in the area. It's much better for our reputation to not sell fakes.
