When I opened up a new roll of pennies I found one that was different. It has a large D with the words Uncirculated Denver on one side and the other side has a shield and the words Treasury, United States Mint. I searched everywhere on the internet for any info on it. thats why I came here. I am not interested in the price e of it, I just want to know what the heck it is and why I cant find anything about it. Anyone have any information? id love to hear about it. I have also collected some old coins but nothing special . A silver dime from 1961. A steel penny from 1943 and a dime from 1935 with the head of mercury. Again, thanks for everything.

Hello and welcome to our CC family!

What you have found is not a penny or even a coin. It is a medallion from the Denver Mint that is included with Denver souvenir sets. Unfortunately, I don't believe this medallion has much numismatic value.

Keep looking, though! You never know what you'll find!

Now all you have to do is get the matching one from the Philly Mint, if they have one for there also.
