Red Flags:
1) Crappy pics 2) 3 auctions and 3 identical pics 3) 0 feedback 4) First items for sale by seller "gold" coins? 5) Appears to be a slabbed coin- Why doesn't seller show the entire slab?

im not sure what a slabbed coin is. but yea the 0 feedback new user has me hesitant. not only that but the fact that they say they accept returns, but then have the ebay box selected as no returns. it could just be an honest new user who is just starting. my ebay account is years old with only 8 feedbacks, and I almost never leave a feedback myself. my biggest red flag is hat I cant find info or pics of this coin on the internet.

Slabbed= Certified by a TPG (Third Party Grader) eg. PCGS etc.

oh and they get payment via paypal which is usually pretty good about protecting customers.

What can happen with Paypal is that the seller will sell a dozen or so coins, get the money via paypal - withdraw the funds, then close the paypal account. The poor buyer in this case gets neither the coin nor a refund, or if lucky a fake coin and no refund.
Another red flag - "private listing - bidders' identities protected"

6) gold is never .99, either .999 or .9999 7) seller is in Canada, so good luck tracking him down 8) Canadian seller barely speaks English, and the mistakes sound more like an Asian writer would make, as opposed to French. 9) "proof" coin in "good" condition? 10) is it fake? .9999 certain 11) depend on Payenemy? With luck, you'll get an email:
Dear payenemy customer-
We have determined that item xxxx was (not delivered, significantly not as described) and thus covered under our guarantee. We have credited your account with $4.12, which was all the seller had in their account when we caught up with them. If they're ever stupid enough to put more money in the account, we'll send it to you, but don't hold your breath.

I can't tell if it a fake or not but the listing certainly does not pass my "Smell Test"!

I cannot believe that auction even has one bid. The seller provides very little information. Whoever "wins" that auction could end up with a gold-plated fake in slab--they will have to break it out to run tests. Will they? Gold is so high, that I'm sure fakes are being produced in huge quantities. Who should trust a nobody on ebay for gold bullion?

Quote: depend on Payenemy? With luck, you'll get an email I once bought a fake Morgan from a guy that used a bed & breakfast in England as his address..he sold a few coins then went back to Romania. PayPal did reimburse the full amount...just wondering where you came up with that scenario ?

Just how long do you think ebaY/payenemy will pull money out of their pockets to cover the thousands of sellers of fakes (not just coins). We had someone post a week or two ago about a woman who paid $4000 for 1000 silver dollars which had to be fake. At what point do they say "sorry, but we're not going to guarantee your larcenous actions"?
