I'm pretty excited about finding my first 1964 d silver quarter. I do not roll search dimes or quarters so that's why this is my first.

So I work at outback steakhouse and I always check the cash register's coins. today someone paid $11 in change and there came the silver quarter. I was handling the change and it sounded weird. I thought there was a foreign coin but I found nothing. so I then checked dates and found what looks like a ms condition '64 d quarter. being my first silver I will probably treasure it and not sell it. all of you roll searchers probably remember how exciting your first silver was!

so my manager just called me and asked what I did with the quarter. I told him I kept it. (i had showed it to him and explained that 1964 and previous are 90% silver) so apparently when I left he found a 1964 in another register. he thought I had left it. if I hadn't showed him mine, the second would have just been spent away. so we each scored silver today! :)

Nice murrellington. I found my first silver from my cash register at work too. My GM let's me trade my old rolls for the new rolls they get in. See if yours will let you do the same!

Congrats on the find, just let go of one of my first silver finds today on ebay. 1960 Franklin half for $17. Not shabby. I also work around a lot of registers and people get annoyed because I am always bugging everyone to keep an eye out for 32-64 Quarters. I even tell them if they find one, I will buy it for $3.00. lol.

I found my first silver quarter a few days ago, too!

I still remember my first silver quarter find! Late 80s in my middle school gym. It was up on a window ledge at the top of the bleachers. I'm sure whoever forgot it there just thought it was change, but even at that age and with silver prices not anywhere near what they are today, I knew it was special. Still have it in a 2x2 with my collection :)

my first quarter was a t my work too in a drawer at a gas station
I found it the day after I decided to start searching
I thought it was gonna be a lot easier to find silver after that day
turned out it was beginners luck
