Wondering if anyone has bought from this online seller and if so what the experience was like. I should have asked this before I made my first purchase with them.. I didn't :-(

I am wondering how reasonable they are with returns etc... website says no issue... but you never know. Any info from anyone that may have dealt with them is appreciated.

Sounds good to me but you'll have to pay for shipping. What's the issue with the order anyways?

Grading is off... not a ton.. but off half a grade to a grade.. main issue is that 1 of 5 has been polished / harshly cleaned... 1 small silver over dipped or some other cleaning method that has caused it to go black... not a nice black and 2 large cents seem to have been cleaned then retoned.. will let you know if they stand up to their return policy. Being cleaned and not mentioned at sale time... shipping should be on their dime. Charged $9 for shipping to me as well... which is steep but if packaged carefully would have been not bad except they packaged them really shoddily and stuffed in an standard envelope.. their costs less then $3 ... $6 for handling on top is pretty steep.

Did they not have any high quality pictures for you to see the coins in question?

Not an impressive website at all, lots of red flags. If this is their front door to their business, I'd hate to see what their offices look like. A hodge-podge of material, haphazardly catagorized. Some pages updated & current, others last touched in 2008 (!) Not a place I'd tempted to spend my ca$h, and no pictures of any of the coins. I don't collect Canadian so I can't vouch for their pricing, but if it is 50-60% of current Charlton prices, you can bet that the coins have some problems & must be discounted to make it sell. Problem free high grade coins of US & Cdn popular series almost always have buyers and sell at or above book prices. There is no Santa Claus in numismatics, and you really do get what you pay for.

I was prepared for the grading issues... felt the coins were priced about right if they were close to a grade lower but the issues surprised me. Hard to know what is a good looking on line store should be as newer to buying on line other then through ebay. ebay has become a lot more dangerous then it was 10 years ago when I started buying there. Tried Proxibid and that was a very bad experience the first and last outing there, I tried my first auctionzip last Friday... we will see how that went when I get my first test batch of coins. Finding the coins that I want right now locally is a challenge so Online was a hope to filling some of those holes in the collection... hopefully the return goes well. Thanks for the input... glad to have found this site.. wish I had found it a long time ago!

Just as an update these guys at least came though with a refund today... was getting worried that they might stiff me but they did not which does say something positive about them.

Thanks for the input on this ... much more careful now. I find however that many online sellers get annoyed when you ask them in depth questions about what they are trying to sell you via a crappy picture and their word. If I get a poor response or carefully worded one ... I tend to move on now.
