Secret Argent Man Valued Member United States 320 Posts	Posted 05/03/2011 5:33 pm So, I'm starting to get more into currency, for various reasons... and then last night it hit me. I worked retail for a period of about 6 years, 92-98, right during the period of web notes. My practice at that time was a) to ignore paper money in favor of coins, but b) whenever I received anything "fresh from the fed" I would crumple it, lest it would stick together with other bills and cause problems counting. I did this quite often, sincE Iboth opened the store and closed it on a regular basis so I'd count everyone's drawers, do the deposit, go to the bank, etc etc etc. I wonder how many web notes not only slipped through my fingers but I actually destroyed value... I counted money for eons before I got interested in it and have wondered just how many great finds slipped through my fingers. Just Be glad you know now what you do so it won't happen again. I suppose that's just how it works though, if everyone saved them in perfect shape then they wouldn't be rare and therefore they wouldn't be worth anything.
