curious as to how rare this bill is...it appears to have been embossed with a G stamp but no ink and no serial number

Missed the third printing...I think. But I'm not too good with paper. An expert will chime in soon.

I see the "G" you are talking about and it is located where the federal reserve bank letter should be. I am far from an expert, but that would lead me to believe that maybe it was printed with no ink or that it was removed later. Just guessing on this.

Does the note show any other signs of having the seal or the serials on it? How did you come by this note?

I was working at a bank back in the 80's when I found this in my drawer...the bill is in outstanding condition no folds or wrinkles....I believe it was a misprint(no ink) not an alteration given the condition of the bill

It's missing the 2nd and 3rd (FRB indicator and green serial and seal). If the "embossed" G is still quite strong, there's a larger chance it is actually genuine. Are the G seal, the 7 and where the serial numbers are indented inwards or raised? They should be indented.

Usually on fake errors, the (soaking) process that the notes go through would destroy the letterpress indention.

Also with any errors, it's only worth what someone would pay, but from what I have seen, it can go upwards of $150 or so. It's better to get this one graded.

It throws people off that the third printing (aka overprint) is actually one pass with two different colors and sometimes one or both of them may be absent.

I find this note interesting and gives me a better understanding of the error process. I had always thought that a missing overprint was due to the note just not being put through the process. I now see that it may have gone through it but with dry ink. Very interesting.

Also just wanted to ask about the image. 1) appears to be the district letter. So is 2) another "G" belonging to the serial number?
