Sheesh I searched over 13000 cents April 5th and havent even found a nice RPM. I opened up 5 rolls of nickels from the box I got today and found this beauty. Does anybody know what variety this is its a 1941 S.

What makes it an "mm" variety?

In the Cherry Book there is an inverted mintmark with this listing FS-05-1941S-503 (024.6)

There is also a repunched mintmark for that year listed as FS-05-1941S-502 but there is no photo for this one.

What you have sure looks pretty!

Why does the doubling show on the east side of the mint mark and the east side of of Monticello? You know what you call it when that happens?

How can one say MD when MD is flat shelf like doubling? This is the same height as the S itself? Can you elaborate why you think its MD.

When I see the second vertical to the far left of the mint mark on the building, I see Machine Doubling in the same direction as the doubling on the mint mark. So a red flag goes up. A better image of the mint mark may change my mind. But that is what I see in your image you posted.
