I'm been interested in obtaining a ZIM 100 trillion note. I know they make good charmin but I'd like to obtain one for collecting and as a conversation piece.
Is my best bet going to the internet to get one and how much should I pay to have it in USD?

ebay will be the most likely place to purchase it. And you should be able to find it for under $5 US

Hang on. The way things are going you might get one printed in US dollars in the not so distant future....

oddly enough I was just talking to a coworker and we were shaking our heads comparing zimbabwe mass currency producing to our very own Obama powered Quantitative Easing (stimulus). It was one of my reasons for finding the note as a talking point. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I have a bid at $3.02 for the 10, 20, 50 and 100 trillion notes (Unc) with free shipping from... bwananick out of Tanzania. 6 hours left on the bid.

If the U.S. could pay off it's debts seven times over, with that single note, go for it!

I actually found an African version of ebay that is loaded with great assortment of banknotes. You can easily get an entire set of Zimbabwe currency of whatever issue years you want much cheaper than ebay as long as they ship to usa. The website is bidorbuy.co.za

I bought a crisp UNC set of the 10, 20, 50, and 100 trillion Zimbabwe notes on ebay for $9. They are easy to find and not that expensive. I really like the looks of the notes also.

darn I was overbid. I'll take a look at that link, opal. I was also thinking about the Somali 1000 shilin note. I love the look of it. Very colorful :)
Afternote: I visited the site and saw prices in R. I'm guessing that's in South African Rands?

By the way do you know that the Zimbabwe inflation was not the highest one in history? In the peek it was 79600000000% monthly (doubling prices in about 25 hours). The world record is July 1946 in Hungary 41900000000000000% monthly, doubling prices in about 13 to 14 hours. The highest note was 1*10^20 Pengo (100 000 000 000 000 000 000, The Zimbabwe top one is 1*10^14), and there was a 1*10^21 note ready to print. Here is the hundred quintillion note: There is no number value here - only text "Hundred Million B[illion] Pengo". (Note that in many European countries "Billion" is 10^12 (million millions), not 10^9 which is called "milliard").

perfect, I bought one for $3.83 on ebay using Buy it now. Thanks for all the tips. Murazor, you've added yet another bit of info for me to jot down. I love those little bits of economic trivia. When I first came to this coin forum someone told me I'd love it here and they're right!

I picked up the hundred trillion dollar note (2008 series) and the 2009 series 1 dollar note for about $5 on the 'bay. Looks like they're going to do this inflation series all over again, wonder how long it will take to get to a hundred trillion this time .
