I am wondering how rare this variety is? From the pictures I have seen it looks like a smallish 1 and a 6 skewed to the right and high compared to the 8 and 2. Anyone have any idea what it should bring as a premium etc? Might as well ask if anyone has heard of any faked versions of this as well.

I am sorry I can't help, but be patient, someone will come on and educate both of us. I do not have any nor any knowledge of this coin. Sure looks like a nice coin.

LOL - I've been waiting for someone to chime in, too! It looks interesting.

If you Google 'Auctions online' you will find one identical, so I presume there are many with the date punched that way.

The "2" is consistent with that date in shape and alignment. Obviously, the 6 isn't. I think you have a repunched digit, in order to restore damage or wear around the "6" to extend it's working life.
