Just got my first toned eagle. Its a 1987 silver eagle I got from APMEX today and I gotta say its amazing! its really hard to capture the greatness of this coin with my cell phone (...i know..sorry guys but all my money goes to these cool coins). Here she is just so you get the idea.

Wrong progression of colors, sorry. Perhaps a quick dip followed by a good rinse of water could fix the problem.

schmidtyss,
I can't view the picture, but it sounds like you're pumped about your new coin. Congratulations. If you like it, that's all that counts.

Most of the rest of you,
Where are your manners? I mean really.

I have to agree with OneBowl, I'm not used to seeing a reaction like that in CCF, but I'm sure we'll get by it. I have an ASE that looks just like that one, and I'm the original owner; I'm not sure why, but it was kept in a small velvet-ish sack, kinda like a mini Crown Royal bag - I always figured that caused it, plus the family has handled it a lot...

well I'm not sure if its AT or not but the ones I've tried toning (handling them and such) it seems like the one APMEX gave me is quiet legit. toning is toning no mater what, just depends on the severity after all..its all tarnish...pretty pretty tarnish. Its still worth its weight in silver so it doesn't really matter to much..ill show you all the one I toned myself.
