I would like to know if 1982 no FG, was made "intentionally" or plugged dies.
I found 1982 Kennedy half with very light FG last week during coin search. It looks like it was made with plugged dies. You can't see it with naked eye, but under the magnified glass you can tell a light FG. Another find is a Kennedy half with only LIBER (without TY) and faded 98 (should be 1998). In the past, I found 1976 coin without 1776. I mentioned before.
I am waiting to get paid, so I could buy USB Magnifier and share the photos.

Missing/weak FG could have two causes- a clogged die as you mentioned and excessive die polishing can remove part or all of the initials.

I forget... what is and isn't acceptable here. 82 No FG is an error coin. Doesn't qualify due to the denomination or does it suppose to go here:

Below is a diagnostic that chukster wrote a while ago. What you have does not sound like a NO FG as you are able to see the FG. His pics are really good.

They are out there to be found. I have found a few of them.

From chukster's post -- You need this die marker for a confirm

Quote:
*Pic of the 1 in the date is a die marker for helping anyone who is looking for one of these while roll searching halfs.
The base of the 1 is missing. *

I've found four of them with with FG totally gone and replaced with polish marks. All four had the die marker from Ceylon62's post.
