A genuine (pattern only) 1937 penny, with standard obverse and reverse could realise between $1/4 and 1/2 million at auction. Even the uniface patterns are excessively rare. I have never seen one. But this one went for - Bid history: 24 bids Winning bid: AU $415.00 (Approximately US $445.21) Fools and their money ... oh well I'm glad that my 1930 - genuine, of course - is safely locked up: Report this Post to the Staff

It's the only reason I can think of why anyone would pay that much for a bogus coin.
