Hello everyone, thank you all for taking a look! I got my first 5oz ATB coin today, and I think I see some doubling in certain areas. Please take a look and let me know what you think. I know they can be a little better but for now I'm using my cell phone through the eye of stereo scope. Thanks Again. Underneath smaller line and bottom of F Bottom part of the A I see an inner line on the I and right hand side of the N Blow up of the N is bellow, The curve of the D Double initials Up, The inside of the E Not sure if that's just the design of the P (Mint Mark) Or if that's a P on top of a P. This is off the Obverse Tip of Georges Lips The N from IN God.... slightly left I know these aren't the strongest, but fun, none the less for me. Are these considered doubling, machine or true. Once again thanks for looking. Edited by amassey08873 05/11/2011 12:40 am

other people on different coin forums have reported that as well and their doubling is far more apparent as yours. I don't think the price changed with or without the doubling.

is this the bullion version or the collectors one from the US Mint? If its the bullion one, others have reported doubling. If its the collectors one, don't know yet as very few have received there.
I got mine yesterday from the mint, not gonna open it. Hope its price goes waaaaayy up! :)

I received my coin today as well, the collector version. It's a great looking coin! And I saw something similar. Is this doubling? Sorry about the flash in the fist picture.

If it is then the mint might finally be able to sellout of these with new error collector interest

Its the collectors version, from mint. I wasn't expecting it until the 15th. (Backorder aprox ship date 15th). I actually had written that its the collectors directly from the mint, Then my anxiety got a hold of me and I said to myself "Myself" Don't put it cause it cause it could be taken the wrong way So I erased it. I get this from my wife who over thinks everything to the point of incompasitation. So a little has brushed off on me sorry. FoxWOod, nice very nice. Did you buy it like that or was it a nice surprise! Almost collectable, Nice as well. I also love the look and feel of these monsters. I've been wanting one so bad but couldn't afford / or see paying the amounts people were asking for them. Now just another 50 something more. LOL Anyone know if theirs a difference between the ones released in 2010 and these. Did they use a different mint mark? If so or If not, Was the number extended or did they start another series. Either way I'm happy I sold my soul to the Coin Gods. A quick story if you have the time, It was After I had the pleasure of looking through a friend of mine coins (Witch were her brothers who was a collector God Bless Him) (Hes no longer with them/us) I was invited over to look at all their coins on account of how much I love them. And to help her with whats what. This is where I saw my first and many multi oz silver and gold coins. I fell in love with them instantly. I believe one of the sets were three coins from Bahamas but very beautiful, 5 oz a pc well I'm pretty sure they were. Then others that were 2-3oz, 10 oz, 1 Troy Lb. I know a few were from places like Franklin mint and alike. A few sets were from the US but for outside the states. Their were plenty of US coins that I was drooling over. Full shoe boxes of Walkers, Franklin's, Mercury dimes. Their was this set that I'm not sure where it was from but each coin was 2-3 oz of silver plated with 24k gold each coin was I believe a saint or passage from the bible. They were proofs that were held in this beautiful book. I wanted to post them and some of the other great coins, but she was nervous understandably cause you never know. I found out she had these coins after she sold $500 of Mercury dimes witch he picked from the bag she brought him. Just by weight though. Tell me he wasnt happy. But I fell in love with larger coins. I'm pretty much only a US collector. So after seeing all those multi oz coin when the mint announced they were going to sell them. I couldn't wait. Have to run the little ones ready for bed. Thanks for Reading and replying.

These coins are double struck on the Graebener press, so it's quite possible the 2nd strike doesn't exactly line up 100% with the first. These would not be the repeatable constant DDOs like the smaller coins, which are struck once.

Thanks, Biz, Always love replies with so much valuable information. I think I might of seen this Graeberner press, I live in Somerset NJ, Phillys around 2 and half hrs from me. Ever since I started collecting I've been dying to get to the Philly Mint. But every time I made plans to do so, Something always got in the way. To add to the frustration my nieces and nephews were going back to Florida in a couple of days and the ones that really started to take interest while they've been visiting all summer.(I say ones cause my sister has 6 kids)I'd been promising to take their. One day I just had enough of this Holy place alluding us once again, Another one of life's wrenches got in the way of the following days planned trip. And now it was 12:45pm it was now or never. My two sons 12 & 2, and niece 16 and nephew 10 looked at me side ways and said theirs no time. . The mint closes at I think 4:30pm. If you consider the time it takes to get their and the time to get everyone ready their wasn't no time. Then I took a leap of faith and said trust me! I wish someone was recording the following events. It was just like you see in the movies. Stuff starts flying everywhere. My fiancee must of worked for a pit crew with how fast she had our sons bag ready. My little nephew in all the excitement put on two different shoes. We jumped into my Chrysler.....aaahhheemmii..."God bless you" lol I get us their by 3:15. We found a parking spot half a mile from the front doors of the mint. So here we are sprinting, stroller out in front. The gentleman at the door says "Sorry were closed today" All of our faces drop shoulders all slump over, I'm staring at everyone's sad faces, feeling like crap. Then he goes "Just kidding :-) With a big ol smile. " I saw you guys running and couldn't help myself" I didn't know whether to hit em or kiss em. We compose ourselves, then step inside and start our self tour. I had forgotten all about being here when I was younger (Class Trip 12 year old) My oldest son 12 was just here two weeks prior and actually helped navigate us their. Some things were amazing other were a little disappointing. Were about 3/4 way through when a guard comes up and says "20min left". "Gift shop is going to close soon" And here is why I've lead you all on this journey. We look out and see this special little area with what I believe to be your Graeberner press with a large bin next to it. The bin has these very large coins or planchets in it. Right away I speculate that this is probably where the 5oz puppies are made. But I wasn't sure cause it looked like the coins were all gold or at least wrapped in something gold. Some even looked like plaster molds. We got to see some Lincoln cents being made. Or at least saw what you could. Now its just these blue machines that do all the work, along with conveyor belts. We hit the gift shop just in time to look around for a minute and buy a few things. And that's when my son looks at me and says " I knew I could trust you dad" Tear Tear... Its true! So we checked out Franklin's Grave and a few other things, Ate some Philly Pie (Pizza) And had a good time. We laughed a lot! My niece and nephew got to see a huge part of history. Looking back I'm no longer bothered I couldn't spend more time at the History of the US coins. Its a display of all US coins made. Nothing like seeing a coin in real life! You cant get that from a computer! But now looking at how special the time we had was, and how it worked out. It makes me happy all over again. We named our exciting trip "Are Mad Dash To See Cash" Sorry so long just as I type the memories are so easy to relive .o:-) Do you think that was the Graeberner press we saw?

Bio. You might of hit the nail on the head. After following your link I realized now theirs even more that I should be collecting. lol I've never looked at the bronze medals before. Other than seeing them in the Gift Shop and ordering the presidential wives, Never realized they made all those. The size of the coins in the cart and couple on table were pretty big, Almost like they were around a pound. Id estimate aprox 6"wide 1to2" thick. Would they use something this large to test how the metal spreads? Or does the mint make I know some are going to laugh but here we go anyway. Does the mint make dishes or plaques. They were larger then the 5ozers. Speaking of the big ol boys. Any one else having this problem? I can't stop holding it, looking at it. Throughout the day. I swear I'm drawn to it. It starts calling to me. AAANNnttthhhonnnnyyyy commee hold meeeee... LOl Its crazy I know. Almost like I get a fix for so long before I'm right back to it. But I still have all my teeth:-D Its very simillar to how I started..... collecting(What were you thinking!)lol. A friend gave me a 1942 D walker for the birth our new son. I couldnt stop looking at it and holding it. Id find my self babby in one arm, coin in free hand. In love with both. My ying and yang 69
