I know varieties exist for the circulated cents in 1992, although rare. What is the standard variety for the Proof cents of 1992?
Cheers

Wide AM, but I think some proofs were accidentally made as Close AMs

Ok, so there may be a few Close AM proofs minted. Can they be attributed? And if so, what are they bringing on the market? Sorry, I suppose I should have included these questions in my original post. Cheers

So far, I have found Close AM proofs for 1998 and 1999. Both years look like this:

This is the reverse of the 1992 S cent. Best photo I can provide, unfortunately. It looks like a CAM to me. What does the community think? Cheers

Maineman is right. If it is a Close AM it is minted with a '93 reverse. A Transitional Variety....worth a substantial premiun.

I wish I could post better photos. I'm extremely tempted to take the chance and purchase this coin based on what I see. Its part of a proof set. The thing is, that the seller has more than 1 set available and I would need to buy out his inventory with the hope of getting this one single coin out of the deal. Its a gamble. And I'm really wrestling with myself as to what to do...

If it is the normal proof 1992 set and you can get them for $4-5 a piece it could be worth the gamble (heck I'll buy one from you). If they are the Premier,or Prestige sets it is a harder buy. IMHO

Yeah, Its the Prestige set. Of course, I've though about it and I've decided I'm not willing to take the gamble. Perhaps someone else is so here is the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/1992-PRESTIGE-P...em4cf6f51eb0I looked at other prestige set others are selling and I am almost 100% certain the coin in the big picture is a CAM. But with money being tight I cannot afford to take the chance. For all I know the set that was photographed has already been sold. So Cheers everyone. It certainly is an interesting thing, a CCF converstation piece at the very least.

I enlarged and cropped your photos. Unfortunately, they are to blurry to cause me to offer advice. I will say this, if it was Maineman's money, I would take the chance.
