A great looking So-Called Dollar there! Issued by Leroy H. Bisterfeldt of Denver to celebrate the rush to the rockies after discovery of gold there in 1859. The condition looks to be UNC to me other than some streaks across the sky on the reverse. If that is a nickel-silver variant it is a scarce medal and could be sold for $100-$200. If it is an ALUMINUM variant it is extremely rare and could be sold for $200-$350+! There is a great site for info on So-Called Dollars that I would share but I don't think I'm allowed post links to at my current post count.

Thanks crownman. Due to the density differences I should be able to tell by the weight which it is. Besides Nickel-Sliver and Aluminum, what is the other, more common type? My pictures came out too washed out, but it definitely is UNC.

EDIT: I found out the other types: brass and gold, so mine is definitely Nickel-Silver or Aluminum.

HK-545 for nickel-silver and HK-545a for Aluminum
I am not so sure fo the provided value, though. I have seen several of them over the years with Uncs typically around $50-75 but alas, there are no current or completed auctions listed on ebay.
