Going through my first box of dimes and in my second roll (clear plastic roll) I notice a silver coin through the roll. I crack it open and to my surprise...a 1928 Silver dime. That makes it my oldest dime roll searching so far. It has seen better days and I needed my loupe to be able to read the date as it is virtually worn away. I'll take a 90% silver anytime...dateless or not. At least it was not a really high value date. In the same box I noticed a clear plastic mint wrapped roll. Pulled it out and it is a roll of 2011. I'll take it. I have only gone through 11 dime rolls so far and I loving it already. I cracked the box of nickels open to find that they are all the white distribution rolls. SIGH! No to figure out if I want to check the rolls for 2000P and 2001 No P. I have about a roll of each so far. The distribution center usually removes anything 1999 and older from circulation before re-rolling the rest. I will have to think about it and decide later tonight.

Here is a pic showing what the Distribution Center Rolls look like in my area. I cracked open the 4 rolls shown in the picture to see if anything has changed and the oldest coin was a 2001P. I checked the rest of the box and both ends have post 2000 coins on each roll. Waste of my time I'm thinking. I will decide later to open rest or not.

OH, you're from Canada. Do they have those in the US? BTW, thanks for the pic. BTW, that coin you have in your signature, what makes it your favorite, is it value?

Hey Cladhunter,
Don't bother opening the rest of those white rolls.. total waste of time.
It's funny you mention the 2001 No P nickel. I pickup a box of nickels once in a while, and I got 2 full "clear plastic" mint rolls of 2001 No P nickels last week. Not sure what they're worth, but I kept em.

Quote: I got 2 full "clear plastic" mint rolls of 2001 No P nickels last week. Not sure what they're worth, but I kept em Well...they are worth about $0.35 in MS60 up to $15 in MS65. I keep them as they are lower mintage compared to the 2001P. 2001P = 136,656,000 2001 = 30,035,000 I also keep the 2000P that I find as they are quite a bit lower mintage. Aprox. $0.50 in EF40 - $30 MS65 2000P = 4,899,000 2000 = 105,858,000 Quote: BTW, that coin you have in your signature, what makes it your favorite, is it value? I just really like the look of the coin. I have always been a fan of the Beaver. The XWL is just cool looking and very noticeable with the naked eye. The coin holds good value in higher grades. It is not a very common coin and seems to be quite scarce. I have been lucky enough to find 2 in the last year in aprox the same condition. Just a cool find for me.
