Just wondering where I can find a list to know what to look for on small cents...got almost everyone+ extras but never looked them up to try and find a close to true value for insurance perposes.

Also got this strange coin shaped ring but not a coin, just a flat disk kinda with a number and words saying record and destroy....will add a pic when I get a chance.

The "record and destroy" ring comes from an old set of automobile keys. The code on it (0416) was the code needed by a locksmith to reproduce the key for the car without actually having a key to copy.

Just please don't destroy that ring, it really is cool!
Sorry, but the only reasonable way to appraise your cents for insurance purposes is to have them appraised. That's the best way, IMO. One way, if there are a few shops in your area, take them to the shops.

However, you can grab a recent trends guide, calculator, and start going at it yourself coin by coin. Hassle, because if you haven't graded some of them, you will need to, and a collector, IMO, should know about grading anyway.

don't think a coin shop guy would like me to bring in two large water jugs full of penneys LOL...well I don't think I would even like to move them more then a few feet haha.

anyhoo ya was just trying to figure out what ones to look for if I decide to start getting into looking at em.
