You could get the coin enameled, but bye-bye value. Maybe you could stick one into a pocket watch and flip it open whenever you want to see your coin.

Sorry to be so harsh earlier, TBK, I take it back, not ALL coin jewelry is awful. I just couldn't do a necklace, even as nice as the one you picked up. It would be a nice gift for your partner or GF... Anyway if you want to have a coin to enjoy on your person, might I suggest a money clip with a $20 Liberty Double Eagle? I got an ex-jewelry coin that was in F-VF for about melt 5 years ago that I had made into a money clip. The funny thing is that practically no one gives it a second look when I pull bills off it, because most people think it's electroplated fake gold, since few people have ever seen the real thing. I know it's real, since there are file marks on the reverse (hidden) side. Cheers!

Well, it only took two months but I got it. I ended up paying $770 at my local flea market. It has definitely been cleaned and it has a few minor nicks so in a word it is "perfect" as a piece of jewelry, it will look great in my necklace.

I will post a picture of the final product when my jeweler finishes it on Tuesday. If anyone wants a deal on a 1/2oz Panda let me know.

If you live or visit a large inner-city, expect such an item to be ripped off your neck in a snatch & grab. Best leave such items in a home safe or bank safe deposit box, and enjoyed in the privacy of your own home. My .02c...

Wonder how long that would last with either coin on 63rd and Cottage Grove in Chicago, day or night.

Just sold the Panda for $900 at my local coin shop but that included the bezel. I am waiting on a nice bezel from ebay and then i'll post a picture of the finished product when it is completed.

I'm looking for about the same thing. I don;t want to buy a coin and put it in a bezel. I kind of feel bad "ruining" (if you'd say that) a coin, but then on the other hand, most of these coin are selling for right around melt value anyway so why does it matter what you do? I am hunting for 1 already in a bezel
