They were made becauseoof the copper needed for shell casing during WWII and In 1944 the Lincolns were made using melted down shell casings . Coins and history and Military . HOOaaaHH

There are soome Errors associated withe the series and 1943-S being the most desirable ..

Sorry A little Vague.. I would say judging by the pics which is very hard MS-60 - MS -62. Check out your 4 it looks doubled (at least by the Pic)

I'll check it tomorrow (wife's asleep). I paid $2 for the coin, labeled "UNC" condition. Would a doubled 4 mean very much? I'll probably have to bring it to someone to look at. I'm not good at picking out those things.

well that is actually quite common . but if other numerals and Phonetics or images show some doubling it might be a good Sign. the 4 looks to be Shelf doubling , but only by the pic.. $2.00 is a good price . The surface looks original and not resurfaced . which is quite common

Hi paratrooper

Your coin looks original from the pics I do not see most of the telltale signs of replating ,, check the edge to see if it is plated if it is it is a replated cent.

looks like it would grade a strong MS-63 from the pics in hand it may be a 64.

here is one to compare it to, this one was in a PCGS MS-66 slab before I cracked it out and put it in my Dansco album
