Thought the "gang", especially the neophyte investors/collectors, would like to read the article.

Enjoy!

Great piece, thanks for sharing. It's good to hear some voices of reason. Love seeing that "tulip mania-style move" mentioned, after seeing it here in several CCF threads!

Excellent, well thought out article that addresses many of the issues we discuss here. I have said for a while,if you don't have the stomach for white-knuckle roller coaster rides, gold is a better bet. That said,it can still make you queasy but it has been easier for me to deal with than the silver ride!

I am thrilled to finally see the origin of the often quoted 16:1 ratio in print. It's not a law of physics! Never could understand how that was a valid pro-silver argument. That said, I still day trade SLV sometimes, but it will never be a buy and hold vehicle.

Great article - thanks for posting it. The author however, is completely wrong. Silver is returning to its "normal" relationship to gold... and nothing under the sun moon or stars will prevent its' upward march, both nominally and in relation to gold.

But first it will be driven down to about $28 an ounce or so... It is nice to see that even now - some just don't get it!

Scratch a gold bug, and you might find a canned-goods enthusiast, or someone who thinks the world's currencies one day will collapse.

I loved reading this line. Apparently, the author is unaware of the fact that ALL fiat currencies eventually revert to their inherent value; most often via being inflated to insignificance. Fortunately for us PM fans, this is NOT news to us!

Raspberry Kool-Aid has always been my favorite. Gonna have some watching Rod and The Rip Van Winkle Caper.
