I am relatively new to roll searching and coin collecting.Recently I was cleaning out the register s and ran across this one. I don't know if it's an error or just something really worn, however it looked strange to me and I decided to look into it. It doesn't seem like it's worn to me since the other side looks fairly decent.
Sorry about the picture, this was my first attempt at coin photography. Any input would be greatly appreciated

maybe a safety pin was soldered to the back and it was worn as a .... button or pin?

That is just solder, probably from a pin attachment.
