I found part of this coin, sorry I cannot upload photos at the moment.
I can describe it pretty well though, the color is copper, such as a penny.
It's rather small for a coin.
On the front, is a man's face, and around the perimeter of the face says: "CONSTANT" then the coin's split, splits up the rest of the word, I believe this is suppose to be "CONSTANTINE" as in Costantine the Great. There are other words around it as well, but some of the coin is gone.
On the back, shows letters from the greek alphabet: "O KAA VI".. Then some letters that are not in our language. In the center of the other side of the coin shows some + sign with two side by side line-curves running through it diagonally.

If you could help me identify this coin, that would be amazing.
My sister found it on a walk, on a sidewalk and it looks old, but why would it be on a sidewalk in the suburbs?

Anyways, thanks ahead of time.

Whenever you can, post a pic so we can see, too!! A few questions...

1) Can you measure the coin (in mm) at its widest point? This can help determining its denomination.
2) Is it shiny like a 'new' penny or does it have dirt/patina remaining in several places?
3) Where exactly did your sister find it? (country, city, etc.)

It could be that a collector or Romans dropped it while on a stroll, or it could be a modern forgery that someone discarded. Personally, I am leaning towards the latter. Several months ago we had someone post a similar story where the coin wound up being a fake. But don't despair! There is a chance it could be authentic...

Just a side note: The obverse would have to read either CONSTANTIVS or CONSTANTINVS. Is there a DN before the C?

to the community.

It could be Constantine I, Constantine II or Constantius II, so we would really need a picture to tell for sure.

I'm afraid this one is indeed fake. An identical coin to yours was posted way back in this archived thread. One of the pictures has gone extinct in the old thread but from the description I gave it is identical. The obverse is indeed copied form a coin of Constantine the great, or perhaps one of his successors (about 300 AD). The reverse, however, is copied off an ancient Judaean provincial coin, from a time period far earlier than that of Constantine, struck during the reign of Claudius I (about 60 AD).

One such fantasy coin turning up would be a tragedy; two is suspicious. I now suspect these are machine-struck replicas given away as a sales gimmick by Reader's Digest or some similar company, rather than a tourist fake from the Middle East.

I will upload a picture soon, the problem is the quality of the picture. The coin cannot be read by looking at the picture.

@ancientcoinguy
1) widest diameter is 18mm
2) it's most definitely not new, there are dirt spots. Even green in some spots (maybe it is copper)
3) suburbs really, more of, city, I suppose
There is no DN before the C
I understand that it could be a fake, and that's alright if it is, I'm not looking to sell this or anything, if it's trash, it's trash.
