Wish this one would come back up for sale a real beauty (never saw it before probably the only mint state I find attractive for this date and value). Would for sure enjoy owning such a beauty:

Back in 2006 30 000$ + the juice so around 36 000$ then you must add the taxes so over 40 000$.

Matrix, your just a mere 31 years old, you have lots of time ahead to save for this Beauty! And as for rarity, E-bay has eliminated that word and replaced it with PATIENCE + MONEY=anything you want!

A killer! Probably almost as nice as the 1921 in PCGS MS-67 that's up for sale at the Torex auction, and at a fraction of the price.

Actually 30 years old lolllllllll in no rush!! I have other goals when it comes to numismatics but I am very happy with my 21 5 cents in AU-55 I don't need a mint state one unless it TRULY hits my eyes. I don't feel the need to own the highest graded of any coin as long as the one I have has super eye appeal and is truly a brilliant coin. I don't believe in buying the #1 pop graded coins but in a few cases it may be the only option so never say never.

I would say much nicer than the MS-67 up for sale and much less expensive. No insult to C&P by any means. The only coin I believe in spending a huge sum for in Canada is the 1921 50 cents in gem mint state and OK the 1936 dot penny other coins you are some times better off with a lower grade. MS-67 I just don't see it but hey that is me.

We know. That doesn't mean that you are right. The 1911 dollar is still the ultimate Canadian coin.
There are many very desirable coins that cost less than the 1921 half that are likely to outperform it
in terms on percentage because they are within reach of more collectors. That said, buying numismatics
for investment purposes is ill-advised. It's quite possible that the void left by the boomer generation once
it's gone will never be fully filled, and it's not unrealistic that the market in general could head into a long, downward trajectory.

Yes sorry to restart that conversation you are right there are many good options in Canada and yes the 1911 dollar is the emperor of our market just no one can buy one anymore and that is for ever since it will donated to the currency museum I do not consider it a collectible coin. The 36 dot pennies are all still collectible but one.

''It's quite possible that the void left by the boomer generation once it's gone will never be fully filled, and it's not unrealistic that the market in general could head into a long, downward trajectory''.

One thing with legendary world known rarities such as the 1911 dollar, the 36 dot penny, the 36 dot dime, the 1921 50 cent and a few others is that if like you say one day the Canadian market slows down or comes to a halt these few coins are still VERY easy to liquidate in other countries like the U.S. Threw say Heritage auctions, Ira & Larry Goldberg's auction house or England threw Spinks....there are many many more and you would be surprised how many people have contacted me over some coins I own in the U.S and Europe that would love for me to sell...but I won't right now none of my stuff is for sale. When investing in coins like these....one must know the world markets well and exit strategies. But the Canadian market will only get better as our population grows over the next say 100 years to say 50-60 million or more Canadians and our economy stays one of the best in the world. As we get older as a nation people will turn more towards our heritage and treasures. We are yet only a young country.
