Thanks to Berry4402, I was able to see this set in-hand. I have to say that it is very beautiful. I love the reverse proof. I'll be posting a picture of his set soon, along with close-ups of a small anomaly on one of the coins.

Hi Whitesid, you can still order the sets from the usmint for $100, and in my opinion it will be just as nice as the ones on ebay. sorry, here's the answer to your question: the reverse proof is a different kind of proof...the fields are frosted and the devices are mirrored, just the opposite of a normal proof on which the fields are mirrored and the devices are frosted. It is a spectacular effect on the gold eagle reverse proof, but still haven't seen the silver eagle version.

Last week I saw a set (not graded) go for $228.49. I think it's HSNS (Home Shopping Network Syndrome). People just do not know what they're buying. Makes me wish I'd bought more than one -- I could be making myself a little spending cash.

I guess a sucker really is born every minute and they seem to be bidding on ebay.

We ordered two of the $100 sets, but have mislaid the confirmation numbers.
Does anyone know what the schedule for delivery is?

Wow 1750.00 is stunning. From the US Mint website, it appears the ASE sets won't be shipping until 12/8. Just goin' have to wait.

Wow! $15,400 and it says the reserve hasn't been met! That is so amazing! There are over 35 bids on this. This type of set was selling for about $8,000 to $9,000 a couple of weeks ago. This is nuts!! First Strike my butt!!
