go thunder,it's interesting that ONLY gold and the dollar seem to be rising(actually, corn is still rising too)but commodities in general are taking a beating. This may be one of those defining moments of changeover that defines what will make money for the rest of this year. IF QE2 ends, the dollar will rise and stocks will drop like a rock, gold looks good in that scenario but silver will take a beating. Other world economies and their currencies will probably decline also so gold is looking like the true safe haven rather than the more industrial metals. I may trade half of my silver for gold before the silver/gold ratio gets too wide. I will probably get lighter in stocks and stronger in cash while holding onto my metals.

See this for what Peter Schiff thinks about the chances of QE ending:

I am gonna say that QE-3 will be put in place....

You guys explained it to me as the gov purchasing bonds, with the investors turning a profit off of the gov down the road if I understood it correctly, which seems like it would just translate to more debt, and endless cycle....

To me that is like CHASE telling the guy who makes 20 grand a year, here take five more grand on that maxed out credit card, you earned it with that credit ratings, max it out, no problem we will give you credit, and forget about the small print APR and minum payments knocking zero off the top, lol....

On a funny side note, I like that bank commercial where the customer brags about his other banks raise your rate CD, and the possible new banker says...."You say were lost for seven days at sea?"

The debt ceiling just got raised again correct, how could that be a good thing....

Again to simply my thought (KISS) without my typical rant, that debt aint going no where, so I don't see the dollar just magically making an upswing just as soon as QE-2 comes to an end....

I think it is still being debated, but in the end what choice is there? Defaulting could be just as bad for the average American and political suicide for the leadership.

Things could get real interesting, I heard a joke the other day about a guy that asked his stockbroker what he should buy...the broker said canned goods and ammo would be his recommendation.

It never hurts to be a little prepared, I've been stocking a little extra in the pantry for the last few months:

That is a serious amount of fiber I'm seeing there. Makes me think there's a closet somewhere well-stocked with some paper products. :)

Looks great, man. OK, you showed me yours, so I will show you mine:

It never hurts to have a stash, whether that be food or PMs. And a closet filled with paper products is not a bad ideal either.

Gotta love Costco!

Silverhawk may be the only bird here but there are apparently many birds of a feather here. I have about an eight month supply between cans, freezer and dehydrated. Low on paper though, have to remedy that directly!

My wife watched some of that the other day and then told me about it. It's pretty bizarre what some people can get away with. If I tried to do anything near what they do, I would be thrown bodily from the store!

Looks like we are back to the normal inverse relationship today, PMs up, dollar down.

On the food storage, I'm not Mormon but I learned somethings from this LDS website, they have been storing food for many years. Birds of a feather lol : http://www.lds.net/forums/preparedness/
