Yes,and I would sell them all but one for an 1871H OBV1 in any grade. Recently when the trends price for this variety increased I contacted Mr. Findley to show him the error of his action. He replied that raw coins bought and sold on ebay are not a factor in trends pricing, doesn't matter how many I have unless they are slabbed,or bought or sold by a dealer who is polled for trends.

The way I see this is you are hoarding, and using reverse psychology to cause interest in the variety so we can make money. Otherwise, why would you buy? I am ok with it as I have a half dozen or so.

Sell yours soon Zonad,I may tire of hoarding and send them all to ICCS to see how far and fast trends will drop. I'm not causing any interest in this variety, the number of collectors of 25cent varieties is very very small. What percentage of known A/Vs do you own? PS I always enjoy the pics you post on this site, and from them I believe you know all about the thrill of the hunt, and the satisfaction of picking a winner when others are scratching their heads wondering "is it or isn't it"

I have an interesting story about Victoria 25cent varieties, how small the collecting world is,and coincidence One Sunday afternoon last summer,in Edmonton,my brother in law,a banknote collector, asked if I wanted to go with him to see a set of uncirculated 1937 notes he was interested in.We'd had a few beers so we talked his son into driving us. While there the seller asked what I'd be interested in. "Victorian coins" I replied. "It's your lucky day" ,said the seller,"I got these with a lot of bills I purchased in NY".He reached into a drawer and pulled out a box of about 40 Victoria 25cents in 2x2's. I wanted to buy them all,but if I did Dan would soon be my ex brother in law.So I picked out 2 1871 EF's's,one OBV1 and another OBV2,an 1880 wide F15 an 1886 6/7 F12,and a beautifuly toned 1894 EF40,all for $525. Now it's time to complete the transaction."Pay the man Dan we'll square up tommorrow" "No you'll regret this by morning" "Where do I get the cash on a Sunday evening when my daily limit at the machine is $200" "Get it tommorrow when the bank opens and you've had time to think".Now I'm wishing he was my ex brother in law. Turns out the seller is going out of town the following morning and won't be back til the Xth.But he'll write my name and offer on the 2x2's and I can pay when he returns, subject of course to any higher offer he receives in the meanwhile. I call him the night before his return, and am pleased to hear the deal is still on and he'll be back about 2PM. I head into Edmonton for the rendezvous and he phones to say he's running at least an hour late, will call me when he gets close to home, and oh by the way someone else is coming to look at the coins,so it'll be first come first served. No problem I'll go kill some time at National Pride(a coin store) 'til he calls. While waiting for the call a guy comes into the store and is showing an album with photos of error coins.I ask if I can have a look. When I see the photos I know I've seen these pics on this forum. This guy is Zonad. We're less than 10 blocks from the seller. Is he on his way to see these coins? Is my EF OBV1 already in his pocket? How fast can I get out of here to go sit on the seller's doorstep? That's where I was when the seller phoned, and shortly after we closed the deal.
