For those of you who are new to the forum, one of the original members was a member known as CATMAN.

Catman joind this forum 2 days after it was created.

He was a collector, a friend and very generous with his coins and he had and shared good advice for all.

Earlier this year Catman died unexpectedly.

There have been a number of post after his passing about some type of memorial.

I am suggesting a CATMAN memorial. It will take the approval of Susan and Bobby.

Here is what I am recommending although it outside of the realm of coins.

I suggest we start a thread - have no idea which category to put it in

but each one of us as we think of it post a recipe there for others to use.

It could be a main dish, a desert etc.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Especially Susan and Bobby.

Went and dug this one up just in time for Halloween, and in honor of Steve and his true love... cats!

Black Cat Cupcakes

Yield: 24

1 1/4 c Reduced Fat Oreo cookie crumbs
18 1/4 oz reduced fat chocolate cake mix
24 pc's Halloween Oreo cookies
16 oz reduced fat milk chocolate frosting
black string licorice
jelly beans
semisweet chocolate chips

*Preheat oven to 350. Prepare twenty four 2 1/2" muffin cups with cooking spray and flour; set aside. Prepare cake mix according to package directions stir in cookie crumbs.

*Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups. Bake for 25 minutes. Remove from pans; cool on wire rack.

*Make cat faces on each of the remaining cookies: using some frosting, attach 4-1 1/2" licorice strings for whiskers, 2 jelly bean halves for eyes and 2 chocolate chips for ears. Let set at least 30 minutes.

*Frost cupcakes with remaining frosting. Stand cat faces on edge on each cupcake. Place 3" piece licorice string on back half of each cupcake for tail.

Enjoy!

I think of Catman (Steve) every time I come to this forum. I still have his address in my file of traders and collectors. I never see myself throwing that email away as it is a personal link to Catman. I am not sure I could come up with a receipe that could even remotely express my friendship with this individual who crossed the miles to bring so many smiles. Everyone who responds to these posts know exactly what I am talking about. As they say, "Friends will come and go, some will stay, but only a few will leave footprints on your heart"! Catman left huge footprints!!!

Although I didn't know Catman, from what I have read about him in this forum, it seems he was a wonderful and generous man.

I like to cook, so I think that is a great idea.

Steve.

I was not long here before he passed on but he gave me a couple of good bits of advice. He and his information will always be missed.

Steve was a great guy, and I still miss him very much! I have several gifts from him in my collection that will never be sold, no matter what! I'll see what I can come up with for a recipe.

I miss Steve as I'm sure most of us do. I am not much of a cook but I will come up with a recipe for this tribute. Mike
