laxmaster92 - The coin is the KM-121a - the circulation strike Two Franc minted in 1945. The coin was struck in Aluminum-Bronze. It was part of a total mintage of 1,080,000 coins and has a book value of $2.50 in Extra Fine.

The coin that you are apparently looking at is the Essais version which was struck in Gold, Silver, Aluminum and Aluminum Bronze. The word Essai means "Test". It refers to a form of proof or pattern strike not meant for circulation. The Essais types of this particular coin all have the word "ESSAI" on the coin under the denomination.

If you did have the Essais version you would identify it by weight or by Specific Gravity.
