Got off of eCRATER. I purchased the following:
All Australia .925 sterling silver
6 - Three Pence coins
2 - Six Pence coins
2 - Shilling coins
2 - Florin coins

A total ASW of - 1.4246
Paid $45.80 including a $6.00 shipping charge (could not gang the two parcels, wasn't happy about the shipping charge)
Any opinions?
Do people collect their silver in the form of dark side coinage?

Harrison2, I think we have done some business in Mexican silver awhile back. Very happy with my 1947 Cinco Peso and my Panamanian VN Balboa. But I'm a still upset that I wasn't able to snap up the many UN Pesos you had for sale. All part of the hunt.

Silver is silver, I don't care where it comes from I'll collect it as long as I can trust the source.

I'm into US silver but there are plenty that are into darkside silver. I think darkside silver might be a great thing to do as you can stack and enjoy looking at the diversity!

Knowing other countries' coinage puts you at a better advantage when you're looking around for a deal on the shiny stuff. Sometimes I get some cool finds in the junk bins, poor misunderstood coins that get the toss by their temporary custodians. I give 'em a good home.

Been on Numismaster so much looking up ASW of coins. I have to give those junk bins a try at the next coin show.

The best-kept secret in coin collecting.
I have dozens of Canadian/world silver coins I bought for below melt value.
I picked up a (cleaned) 1966 Australian 80% silver 50-cent piece out of a US$1 bargain bin a few years back. (.3416 ASW, by the way)
Also got a BU 1937 Aus. Crown (.8407 ASW) for US$20 when its melt value alone was around US$25!
