I found a 2001P dime without any edges and being so shiny I knew they weren't just worn off. it doesn't have any "ghost" edges that would tell of a weak strike so I know for sure this was an error-or can someone enlighten me?
Thanks

Is it the same diameter as a regular dime ... or slightly larger?

if it were struck out of collar it would be larger than a regular dime and the details would also be mushy I would think because the metal would flow out instead of in the devices because it wouldn't have the reeded edge collar there to keep it from going out further than its supposed to. Of course this is if the reeds aren't put on there before the strike which I am not sure about sop this is just my theory. If its smaller than a dime it may be PMD where someone took a sander or something to the edge of the coin to grind the reeds off of the coin after it left the mint

Probably pressed into a key-chain, or bezel. That smoothes the edges.

No different than any other dime, same luster, thickness, feels like the same weight and still has the copper edge around the side.
