Ok, maybe not a scam like aboncom. But I think that it's a little deceptive in the way the coin is presented. http://cgi.ebay.com/ANACS-certified...TE_W0QQitemZ a href= https://www.coincommunity.com/go/link.asp?target=https://www.ebay.com/itm/-/280042750197 target= _blank rel= nofollow 280042750197 /a QQihZ018QQcategoryZ3357QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem And if he's only seen a handful in this high of a grade in 35 years...I hardly consider him to be a dealer. And the pics are small enough so that you have no idea what you're buying and how severly damaged it is.

It looks like he is trying to hide the extent of the damage. He never describes what the damage is or shows a picture of it . The ANACS holder means nothing- the damage could be severe enough to net grade it down to G4 or something.

I do not think it is a scam or anything, I think he like very many sellers on ebay have poor photo's. He is telling you what ANACS graded it and even states what they said the problem was with the coin, it is just a auction where if I was interested in the coin I would email the seller and ask for better pictures

I believe the seller is trying to keep the the attention to the problems with the coin at a minimum and yet making sure the buyer knows their is some damage. I agree with Bryan and when I am interested in a coin I ask for more pictures, and I ask for more history and information.

It seems like the seller is just trying to present the coin in the best possible light. I agree that a lack of pics is a problem, but if he would send them on request I would bid.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it a scam, but I would respect him a lot more if he was more forthcoming. All caps: ANACS CERTIFIED AND GRADED EF40 1832 BUST Half Dime....ONE OF THE TOUGHER DATES IN THIS POPULAR BUT SHORT LIVED SERIES..HAVE SEEN ONLY A HANDFUL IN AS HIGH A GRADE AS THIS ONE IN 35+ YEARS OF DEALING. Fine print: severely damaged I also don't believe if he's a dealer he's only seen a handful in EF condition, let alone EF (severly damaged) or better. No close up shots of the coin. Looks to me like he's fishing for unsuspecting buyers without actually crossing the line into dishonesty.

Anybody just showing one side of the coin from far away is suspect A powerseller and highfeed back member more so These people will often upon request send the same bad pic but both sides when detail is requested That is were I give up and move on; even when I want the coin badly

The description clearly states that the coin is severely damaged. The picture is not good, but you can clearly read that the holder says severely damaged. I have no problems with this.
