no, PCGS doesn't slab problem coins so if it is in a PCGS slab it is a problem free coin. That label looks kinda weird to me like maybe the coin was cracked out of the holder or something because I have never seen a PCGS label that was so rough looking, I would definately want to see a picture of the whole slab before bidding. But there is no chance that the label says corroded or anything because PCGS will body bag a problem coin

Yes the paper inside the container looks messed with and on the right they spelled vermont vrmont. Maybe a HiJacked name. Ask ebay about it to see if it is legite. I read some where here lately of fake coins being graded and slabbed by a slabbing company starting with a P. Suppose they were so real looking they slipped right through and have since been cracked out of slab. |

The slab and, hence the coin is highly suspicious. The label does not match PCGS's verification look-up http://www.pcgs.com/Cert/21047721.html . Besides the misspelling of Vermont (I've never seen a misspelling on a PCGS slab, not that they don't happen; any reliable collector and dealer would have had the label corrected) and the obvious corrosion of the copper (as stated above, PCGS doesn't slab corroded coins), the copper was graded VF-30BR, not VF-30. Fake slabs have been known to come out of China; looks like he bought a bad coin and is trying to pass it along. Stay away, stay far far away. |

I just checked a bunch of them on Heritage. All of the 1788 PCGS slabs (over 20) were missing the "o" in Vermont. None of them had a color designation at all.
The pictured slab is, IMO, legitimate, but I cannot imagine the pictured coin being in that slab. That's a bodybag coin, in my opinion, and definitely not VF30. PCGS 25's were noticeably nicer.

NGC will also certify problem coins through their NCS division. The slab will be labeled with the details grade and a notation of the problem. |

- Although NGc and NCS are owned by the same company, they are different divisions. You can not send a coin in to NGC and instead of them bodybagging the coin them send it to NCS to return to you in a slab, they will return it to you in the bodybag and then you have to resend it to NCS to get into the slab, whereas ANACS will not bodybag any coin (as long as it is authentic), they will label it with the problems and net grade it. On the other hand, you can send a coin into NCS and ask them to look at the coin and if it will grade at NGC to send it to them and if it wont grade at NGC they will place it in their NCS slab with a net grade like ANACS does |

Seems to me that for 1100 bucks (AU or USm doesn't matter), the seller would post a decent picture. He cudda posted a picture of a metal slug and just told us whatever he wanted. It also seems to me he could have at least apologized for the poor picture and given a bit of a written description of the coin. No, I don't think he's gonna get many bids.  |
