Hello All as a newbie not to collecting but the forum
In search of

I am a collector of 30 plus years and kick myself now

I collect many types of coins but my baby is my full set of walking liberty halfs(wlh) my collection a labor of love and too much money all raw has an average grade of about au55-58

With the late dates bringing that grade up although my keys and semikeys grade nice 38d ms60 the 21 series xf.And I have slowly been putting togather a morgan set trying to keep grades aleast 58 to ms60 these are common dates, and Mercury dimes which I am trying to keep all ms.I have lots of other odds and ends that were purchased because I liked them.

But I ramble what I am insearch of are the old capital holders which held the old photo grade coins and there cert. These are no longer made and are almost the only way to keep the cert and coin nice because the coins are just in flips.I have always liked photo grade (anacs only)and am old enough that I submitted 2 of my collection myself.I currently have 32 halfs and dollars and can locate the holders nowhere,i have fond one on ebay but I have to by a whole lot with a bunch of others I dont need.If someone out there knows where I can get my hands on some or one whatever they find I will find away to reward them in some way. These old photo grades are making a come back I notice when I find one at auction there are more bidders then there used to be even for common date coins. When my picture skills get better I will begin to post some of my coins I think many collectors will enjoy both the quality and natural color some of them have taken on.

Thanks for listening to me ramble and any help that may be provided I can be reached at ***E-Mail Address Removed***

Hi and thanks rachums107 it was a set left to by grandpa not complete and some poor coins but I have spent a lifetime so far to complete and upgrade the set I think what I could have done with the money spent but would not change a thing it is a very nice set.and without a doubt there are a few coins which have been dipped not scrubbed with steel wool and I dont have as big a problem with that as some collectors.send a coin for conservation and that is part of what they do the same people that say dont do it pay them to do it.I have a nice story about that for another day. Thanks to all for the welcome WLH

I know this thread is now 6 months old and since I also collect the ANACS photo certs, I know what you mean. Very little info out there on them. I have been collecting info on them and put together a research paper that I woulds like to share with you. I am new here and I don't know how to PM someone yet, but if you can PM me I will send it to you (via email). It is long and has alot of good info with quotes from the first grader at ANACS that started the grading on March 1 1979 and info on where you can get the holders for the photo certs. Cover the time of 1972 through 1991 or so.
I hope you find this as interesting as I do
Thanks, RJP
