I am not even going to go into detail on this one but I believe each and every one of you needs to read this WHOLE auction description and then pass your words of wisdom or opinion back to the rest of us! Personally I would just say "ETHICS"? Let us know as things are rapidly getting out of hand, I would say!

Check out ebay item# 3971702216 under nickels 1970 to now!

Anyone reding this auction should probably go to one of my favourite sites; https://www.skepdic.com - the skeptics dictionary.

First of all, here is a link to the auction:

Believe it or not

I don't know what to think about this auction. For what it's worth, I think the seller believes every word he's said. At least it's more interesting with a coin rather than a grilled cheese sandwich.

Oh good grief. What people will do for money. This person should be marked on the "never view listings again" list.

Thanks ND! One can magnify anything and sooner or later an image will appear! I can't believe this seller talk so highly of his own reputation as a seller and his ethics and then offered this auction?

Prior to this, I think that he was a reputable seller. He just got caught up in the hype. Hopefully, this coin won't sell and then he'll realize it simply isn't worth sacrificing his integrity for sales like this one.

In the long run, I think it's going to be harder to find bisons without errors. These will be the true rarities. Whatever happened to quality control? [:0]

Now Susan, I FINALLY purchased a 2005 "Speared" buffalo at a very respectable price! I don't collect errors but have managed through the years to end up with a few now and then but this wasn't about an error! It was about another BUFFALO I didn't have so it became a must have item. Yes, I have the 37D 3-legged so I felt this one may become a legend in the next 50 years as well. Putting it back for my little guy hoping it will do him some good some day. I have also seen the "Fly on the Tail", the "Wounded Buffalo", the "Seperated Leg" buffalo, a bunch of new scratched....er, I mean Speared buffalos and now the 2005 Jefferson "booger in the nose" Jefferson obverse nickel. Now there is the recently found "dropped T" Buffalo nickel! They just keep coming but in the end only the Speared and the dropped T will make the official error designation! I am anxious to see approximately how many of these Speared Buffalo's finally turn up or perhaps an approximate number will be listed within the next year. Only then will we get some idea what they are really worth and whether or not they truly will become an important part of the nickel series. I think they will but again time will tell. Hey, for what it is worth I have some Buffalo nickels (2005) with no errors and if your right I will be covered on both sides of the issue. Now, anyone got an old 37D 3 legged they want to part with as I still have a hole in my other album? Didn't think so!
Rest in Peace

I know this is a family forum but I would call it the "wandering sperm variety"!! After all you don't need a magnifier to see "demons and wizards" Mike Just Pokin' Fun.......

If I read this auction's description correctly, the seller is doing it all with tongue in cheek with no intent to defraud nor otherwise take advantage of the type of bidder who sees omens, icons, or spiritual figures in cheese sandwiches, clouds, and shadows on a wall. I think he just got a little carried away with a whimsical moment.

I also note that the seller is near Mt. Rushmore. Now, if he REALLY wants to make a statement (and perhaps a killing), he'll go looking for an error coin which, under magnification, appears to have all four of Mt. Rushmore's faces on it.
