They are all FEMALE. They excite you once in a while, but frustrate you most of the time. Haha

They may all be MALE. The vast bulk might be said to be uninteresting/boring/set in their ways and only come in useful when out shopping (well that's what my wife says). Haha.

To Las Vegas Larry... all words have masculine and feminine origins. That is why Spanish have el (male) and la (female) for every word. The same goes for English words and their origins. However I don't know the answer to the question :)

I usually go by the gender of the person depicted on the coin.

Definitely female - like a girlfriend. You find you that you really like and keep it a while; but then comes the overwhelming urge to "upgrade"!

For me personally I think coins are a mixture of male and female. The pretty ones that you love to show off are your models, the ones that look really good but cost alot of money are your mistresses, the ones you overpaid for and don't look as good everytime you see them are you wives. The ones with all the knicks, scratches, and cuts are your over worked blue collar guys, the fake coins are your cheating husbands, the coins that just never seem to hold their value are your dead beat guys!!

In German it's "die Münze", so a coin is a she. :) The term is derived from the temple of the goddess Iuno Moneta in ancient Rome, so in languages that use the same word and have two or three genders for nouns, the feminine is common.

I usually sayt "it's a beauty" and since I use the word "beauty" I reckon it's female, since females are "beautiful" and male are "handsome", LOL!
