This came out proof set I bought from the mint. Why does the mint not seal the plastic cases? Wouldn't the coins hold up better if they were air tight?

It looks like there is a chip or something there. It looks raised in the pic.

I agree with you that the Mint should take more care with their coins. You'd think by now that they would be packaging their coins correctly.

I am not to sure if it is the picture that you took or maybe it is not, but there is doubling evident on the eyelid, eyebrow and some of the eye itself. Of course this could be caused by an unsteady camera mount while taking the picture, but if not, it MAY be a doubled die. If possible, could you re-take the picture with the coin outside its holder?

I tried to take better pics, but to no avail. Just not good enough yet. I don't believe this to be doubling of any kind. Under my grandsons microscope it looks like somebody at the mint took an engraving tool and tried to highlight certian areas. The eye, inside the ear, the nose nostril and some of the hair in front of the ear.

Definitely an error mark. I agree the Mint should package and seal the coins better. Hopefully this will change soon.
