1805 Half-Dollar.....with Some Damage.

Let me say up front that I am not a coin collector - rather an accumulator. I have been a metal detectorist for 43 years and often find some neat pieces. What I'm posting for is some numismatic advice on an 1805 half-dollar that I found in an older area of Charleston, SC (not far from here). What I'd like to know is whether or not it is collectable? I know there aren't a great number of these "out there", but does it have value in this condition? I appears to have been worn on a chain or lanyard, hence the hole. Any help appreciated. We have quite a few members from the Carolina's me included (NC here though) and maybe if you stick around and just show some of the coins you have accumulated you may find it to be a hobby and a forum you really enjoy and become a collector yourself Report this Post to the Staff
